Evenin' All!
Well, Christmas has just been and gone. Was very odd that I remembered to update this just at the time I said I would! I really must bookmark this page so that I will remember to add to this a little more often.
Anyhoo, down to business. Not much has happened since the last update car wise if I'm honest. Not longer after the last entry I finally parted with 75 hard earnt pounds and got my windscreen replaced. Just in time too as the weather has been pretty chilly lately and it's been a god sent to have the screen clear of ice by the time I've done the rest of the windows. Only downside is that after about 3 weeks the drivers side doesn't work so I only have half the screen that clears....grrr... probably a fuse or the connector thats gone but it's been difficult to find the time to look at it properly to fix.
Finally gave the poor thing a wash last week. After getting the screen replaced the Autoglass guy told me not to wash it for a week to let the glass bond. So I did, and we had gloriously sunny dry weather. After that week though it turned to shit and pissed down and was freezing. It finally got it's wash on the 23rd of December which is the longest time I've ever left to wash a car.
Some photos to show how manky it was... (click for a larger view)

And the typical after shots....

I really really could not be arsed to clean behind the wheels properly as it was still pretty cold outside and my legs were soaked (I one of those people who manage to get water everywhere when cleaning a car... namely my trouser legs and boots). Even so, it looked much better for it.
ICE wise the car will be having a little change. Jamie got hold of a Pioneer P77 for the car. They are pretty funky head units and hopefully it will work with the steering wheel adaptor, the iPod connector and the CD changer. As much as having lots of albums in mp3 format all on a few CD's is grand, I do actually miss having 6 of my best CD's in the car. Also, for some stupid reason I can never get mp3's to record properly, there's always the gap between songs (which I listen out for subconciously more than the songs themselves) or in the case of my Robbie Williams album, a staggering 10 second silence during 'Rudebox' which is so utterly annoying so I haven't once listen to it fully in disgust at my CD burning incompetence. Either way, new head unit, might mean better tunes! Woohoo! I can't even listen to my iPod in the car as it will only play one song on repeat and even when I try to fast forward it it just starts again, I can't even get it to repeat any other song! Arggg!
Anyway, more car stuff....
Gave it another oil change after we have the screen replaced. Nothing to report there. Spark plugs were clean. Air filter was clean. Oil was...well...oil.
MPG is suffering a little with the traffic I have to put up with in the mornings. I have resorted to getting up around 6:45 to leave for 7:20-7:30 to miss all the traffic. Means my 11 mile journey to work is only taking about 15-20 minutes rather than 30-40 minutes with the 3 schools I have to bypass and the most congested roundabout known to man. I've also downloaded a new MPG excel file again and have started the Mondeo on it's own spreadsheet. It's just to keep a proper record of it without it clashing with the Ka's records.

As you can see, it's staying around the mid 20's which isn't too bad. I did have it up to 37ish when I went to see my family around mid December, but that was pottering over at 60 mph whilst just chilling to some funky tunes on the stereo.
Well, other than that, not much else to report. We are still awaiting the house move to come about. This should be sorted by the end of January (fingers crossed). Jamie is currently looking at getting a new car and a Hatch ST200 caught his eye on Ebay, but with the extra cost of the petrol and the insurance it's not really a viable option. Well, not until we are settled in the house and see if we can afford to run two V6's. Would be pretty damn funky to have 2 of them on the driveway!
Anyhoo, that's all for now folks! Quite nice to have a blog I can update with not too much drama unlike the Ka with a new issue every week!
See you!
